Two elements of the programme are vitally important to me: the international network that opens doors to other, useful networks, and the personalized coaching. Unknowingly, technostarters tend to make the same, common mistakes. You learn practical ways of avoiding them. VentureLab works as a catalyst and an incubator for technostarters like me.

The most valuable part of my time at VentureLab was the coaching sessions. The coach is detached and has no vested interest, so he is able to ask very direct questions. This helps you to grow, both commercially and as an individual.

Our first idea was to enter the market for solar and wind energy in order to capitalize on the growing industry. Partially based on the feedback that we received in business-panel presentations of VentureLab Twente, we decided to take better advantage of our current business activities.

I’m not an entrepreneur by nature, so VentureLab was the answer to my problems. The programme taught me what it means to be an entrepreneur. I learned valuable lessons, both from my coach and from the more experienced entrepreneurs. And a fellow participant and I are now looking into how we can help each other out; another area where VentureLab comes into its own.

With the support of VentureLab Twente, which provided us with the credibility that we needed in the early stages of our development, we were able to make arrangements with suppliers and transporters of biofuels. Knowing the aviation market and having the right network contacts, we are confident that we can transform our idea into success.

VentureLab brought all of this together for me in one environment. I acquired new knowledge, learned from best practises, and met a variety of inspiring professionals from various fields and levels of experience.

I realized that I would need more than my technical background alone in order to succeed in business. With the support of VentureLab Twente, I was able to fine tune the business concept for Trade-Base from marketing and strategy perspective.

Demand for my products is growing fast, but I don’t know anything about the business side. They have fast, practice-based methods for teaching this at VentureLab. It’s the best university around.

I came to VentureLab for the network and the dynamics. This has given me the incentive I need to take it to the next level.
