First edition of Twente International Entrepreneurship Event – A Success!

On the 18^th of May, first of its kind, the Twente International Entrepreneurship event was held at The Corridor. This was a combined initiative of Oost NV and Venturelab Twente. The primary objective was to inform the international residents of Twente about the support and facilities available for foreign companies to set up base in Twente.

At the event, over 20 countries from across 4 continents were represented by 51 participants who actively took part throughout the event. It was an active pool with a whole lot of diversity, with participants from Columbia, Italy, Nigeria, India etc. who walked around getting their questions answered during the information market at the beginning of the event. The information market comprised of desks from Mazars, Kennispark Twente, WorldTradeCentre-Twente(WTC) combined with Saxion, Insego, AIESEC, VentureLab Twente and Oost NV . Our special thanks to each one of them.

After the network dinner, VentureLab Twente, Oost NV and WTC presented to a room packed to capacity the services they have to offer. Entrepreneurs who have had experience of these services acted as reference speakers and shared their experience with the attendees who could immediately relate with them and get a first hand review of the possibilities. Participants at the end of the event commented that they were delighted at being exposed to all this information and services on offer which they previously had no clue, even existed.

This was a very good start to create awareness amongst international residents of Twente ranging from all kinds of backgrounds, students, employees, Ph.d’s etc about the entrepreneurial spirit that exists in Twente. We hope that all the participants who now know of the facilities and possibilities available can act as ambassadors for the Twente region.
