Het belangrijkste aspect van Sociale Media is dat men de mogelijkheid heeft gekregen om op het internet razendsnel een mening te geven over een product of een dienst. Voor sommige bedrijven leidt dit tot grote successen, en weer andere bedrijven slaan totaal de plank mis. Deze mond tot mond is een belangrijke vorm van informatie uitwisselen en verkrijgen via Sociale Media. Maar hoe ga je daar mee om als bedrijf? Hoe weet je wat er gezegd wordt? En bovenal, hoe zorg je ervoor dat mensen positief over jouw product gaan praten?

Two of our participants made it to the top 50, viz. Steray (31) and Vipsnet (50), in the SME Innovation Top 100 of the Netherlands.

The ranking is an initiative of Bizz ondernemersblog, Syntens, Agentschap NL and Mercedes Benz.

Measured per Dutch province, the province of Overijssel came fourth, with 9 companies in the top 100. This score equals Gelderland. The top 3 provinces are Noord-Brabant (27), Noord-Holland (18) en Zuid-Holland (13)

On July 8, VentureLab welcomed the summerschool students to their first training sessions. On the first day they explored the entrepreneurial process and the role of the entrepreneur in the process. On the second day, they focused on finding the business opportunity; in an interactive idea generation session, joined by some VentureLab Twente participants. All with the support of dedicated coaches.

The VLT summerschool aims for its students to acquire competences on Marketing, Strategy, Organization, Finance, Technology management, Personal and Team skills, and to be able to define a business model for new business. The summerschool concentrates on training in July, while in August the focus is on application of what has been learned, including an opportunity to present the business concept to a panel of experts.

Per July 2nd, Mr. Radboud Dood of ‘Meesters van de Toekomst’ is available to participants in VentureLab Twente for questions on the funding of their companies in general, and Informal Investing specifically. Meesters van de Toekomst is a broker between entrepreneurs looking for funding on the one hand and ‘business angels’ looking for investment opportunities on the other hand.

A typical activity of Meesters van de Toekomst, is organizing specific meetings where capital-seeking entrepreneurs are brought together with individuals with capital (business angels) who want to provide startup capital for young companies and help them grow. These investments involve major decisions from both parties – they can be a high risk for the investor to take. This is why the plans presented at these meetings, have to meet very high demands. To learn what specifically is asked from the entrepreneurs, is for example an important purpose of the meetings at VentureLab Twente.

Every first Friday of the month from 13:30h-15:00h VentureLab participants will have the possibility to share their plans and financial request with Radboud. He will assess the current quality of the financial request and where possible will give advice on the further improvement of the plans.

The best stories about entrepreneurship are told by entrepreneurs themselves. With that idea in mind, VentureLab Twente published the first edition of the “VentureLab Twente Entrepreneurs”. The President of the Executive Board of the University of Twente, Anne Flierman, did receive the first exemplar from Prof. dr Aard Groen. The stories also provide an understanding of VentureLab Twente’s role in realizing entrepreneurial ambitions. Below you can download the booklet in PDF format.
